Case Study: Giving a Worn Garage Floor a Fresh Start in Land O’ Lakes, Florida
The Rinberger garage had 575 square feet of concrete that showed years of vehicle use. Tire marks and stains had built up across the surface, leaving the floor looking worn and making it difficult for the garage to feel as finished as the homeowner wanted.
Rather than continuing to live with the appearance of the existing concrete, the homeowner chose to replace it with a garage polyaspartic flooring system in the Domino UV Polymer Flake color. The goal was to create a finished surface that looked intentional and better suited the space.
The Challenge: A Garage Floor That Had Seen Better Days
The concrete had taken on the typical signs of an active garage. Repeated vehicle traffic left tire marks across the surface, while stains added to the uneven, worn appearance.
Over time, those marks had become more than isolated spots on the floor. They affected the way the entire garage looked, making the concrete feel like a leftover part of the space rather than a finished surface.
The homeowner wanted to change that by giving the floor a new appearance that would complement the rest of the garage.
The Solution: A Domino UV Polymer Flake Garage Floor
Tru-Grit installed a garage polyaspartic flooring system finished in the Domino UV Polymer Flake color.
The flake blend brought variation across the surface and gave the floor a more finished appearance than the existing bare concrete. Instead of having stains and tire marks determine the look of the garage, the new flooring established a consistent design throughout the space.
This also allowed the floor to become part of the overall appearance of the garage rather than simply being something to cover up.
The Process: Preparing the Existing Concrete
The project began with mechanical preparation of the existing slab to remove surface contaminants and create the proper profile for the new flooring system.
That preparation was an important part of the installation because the new floor needed a properly prepared surface beneath it. Once the concrete was ready, the polyaspartic system and Domino UV Polymer Flake color were installed across the 575-square-foot garage.
The combination of preparation and the new decorative finish gave the project a foundation for a consistent final result.
Why the New Floor Changed the Space
The biggest difference was not simply the color of the floor. It was how the finished surface changed the overall feel of the garage.
The previous concrete drew attention to tire marks and stains, while the new flake design gives the space more visual consistency and character. Instead of the floor looking like an unfinished slab that happened to be used for parking, it now feels like a deliberate part of the garage.
That shift can make a surprisingly large difference in how a homeowner experiences the space every day.
The Outcome: A More Finished Garage
The completed project replaced the worn appearance of the original 575-square-foot concrete with a Domino UV Polymer Flake polyaspartic flooring system.
The result is a garage with a more cohesive, finished look and a floor that better fits the space. The old tire marks and staining no longer define the appearance of the garage, allowing the new flooring design to take their place.
